Suzy La Follette received an MFA in poetry and non-fiction at Antioch University Los Angeles in 2013. She is the founder and editor of Spoken Word Review, placed sixth in the National Poetry Slam in 2003, and her non-fiction piece "Reading Smoke" was nominated by Antioch to represent the school in the AWP’s, Intro Journal's Project. Her poems have appeared in Spry Literary Journal, Cactus Heart Press and are forthcoming in Sinister Wisdom and Write Bloody’s anthology We Will Be Shelter. She is a career firefighter, plays bass and sings in a band called Arty Twit and the Alibis, and lives in Austin, TX with her wife and a small herd of domestic animals.
